Lorenzo Sevn Altieri

SEVN a.k.a. MĂZĒYTRAP is a British-Italian singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, artist, author, and producer. His musical journey began at a very young age, undertaking classical studies in both piano and double bass . Transitioning into a self-taught Jazz Fusion drummer—heavily influenced by pioneers like Prince and Billy Cobham—he honed his craft exploring a wide spectrum of genres, also seeking total creative freedom as a multi-instrumentalist through his own project, Funklab07. Quickly becoming a highly sought-after drummer, he launched his global career anchoring the rhythm section as the touring drummer for international pop icon Alexia. Driven to break traditional boundaries, his endorsement as a drummer and sound designer for PAiSTe—highlighted by projects such as PAiSTe Concerto: a Film Suite for Cymbals (2012)—served as a major catalyst for his expansion into contemporary art. Constantly expanding his creative horizons, SEVN seamlessly blends Pop, Electronic, and Avant-Garde music. His multidisciplinary vision has been showcased at prestigious contemporary art platforms, including the Venice Biennale (with works like Kátharsis and N.O.V.V.O.N.), the New York Biennale (NYBA End and Over Concerto), and a high-profile performance as a DJ with Johannes S. Sisterman. After winning Italy’s acclaimed MEI Award, he relocated to London, making an immediate impact with his poignant Brexit-awareness anthem, Stars (We Are All Made Of). In 2021, drawing from years of experience as a ghostwriter, he debuted his futuristic alter ego, MĂZĒYTRAP. The project launched with the captivating sonic world of Black Diamond, paving the way for his experimental concept album, Multiverse, a work that intricately weaves together electronic foundations with classical nuances and complex textures of jazz / progressive rock. Driven by an insatiable curiosity and a fearless desire to stay ahead of the curve, SEVN continues to conquer uncharted territory, rewriting the rules and leaving an indelible mark on the future of music.
